1 October 1998 The German Society for Regulatory Affairs was founded in Bonn. Entry in the Register of Associations was applied for the same day. The founding members were: - Professor H.G. Schweim (Chair) - Dr. M. Baccouche (2nd Chair) - Dr. E. Ernst (Officer for Training and Continuing Education) - Dr. J. Hofer (Treasurer) - Frau I. Ehrhart (Secretary)
14 October 1998 The society with its Articles of Association was entered in the Register of Associations/District Court, Bonn under registration number 20 VR 7490.
10 and 11 June 1999 The official DGRA founding conference was held at Hotel Königshof in Bonn.
1 July 1999 An official business address was set up.
Fall semester 1999 The first course leading to Master of Drug Regulatory Affairs was launched at Bonn University with 35 students.
2002 In accordance with the Articles of Association a new Board was elected at the General Meeting:
- Professor H.G. Schweim (Chair) - Dr. U. Granzer (2nd Chair) - Dr. S. Keitel (Officer for Training and Continuing Education) - Dr. O. Zierenberg (Treasurer) - Dr. A. Derix (Secretary)
December 2004 The first academic chair for Drug Regulatory Affairs in Germany was established at Bonn University. Professor Dr. H. G. Schweim was appointed to the post.
13 January 2005 Professor Dr. H.G. Schweim stepped down as 1st Chair of the DGRA after assuming the professorship at Bonn University. Until a new election is held, Dr. Granzer as 1st Deputy Chair assumes this function in accordance with the Articles of Association.
2006 In accordance with the Articles of Association a new Board was elected at the General Meeting:
